Elia is owner and executive chef of the critically-acclaimed Italian dining concepts, Casa D’Angelo and Angelo Elia’s Pizza, Bar and Tapas. Casa D’Angelo’s flagship Fort Lauderdale location represents the pinnacle of fine Italian dining in Fort Lauderdale. Its tremendous success has resulted in two additional locations in Boca Raton, Fla., and the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas.
Elia’s more recent creation, Angelo Elia’s, is a concept that elevates approachable fine dining to new heights. It is an elegant, hip South Florida dining destination where crowds line up every night to enjoy fine traditional Italian-style pizzas, tapas, Panini’s and a notable wine list. Currently, there are four Angelo Elia’s locations in South Florida, including Coral Springs, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Weston.
Over the course of his longtime culinary career, Elia has received numerous industry awards and recognition. He has been consecutively honored with the “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator since 2000, and has also received the coveted “Golden Spoon Award” from Florida Trend magazine for ten consecutive years.
Elia is a native of Sesto Fiorentino, Italy, near Florence, where he grew up cooking in his mother’s kitchen and family’s restaurant. When he isn’t in the kitchen, he is a doting father to daughter, Giovanna, and son, Paolo, and a loving husband to his wife, Denise, with whom he resides in Fort Lauderdale.
